about
"The Picture of Dorian Grey" is a pre-release of a song off of our up coming E.P.. The song is based on the story of Dorian Grey; in which Dorian never ages, mean while a picture of Dorian becomes more and more decrepit as time goes by. The more Dorian does wicked deeds the more the picture deforms. Eventually Dorian goes insane and they later find his body, now old and decrepit, with a knife in his back; meanwhile his self portrait has been restored to the image of Dorian in his youth. The point of this song is to reveal the dangers of pride and give us a visual representation of the hearts of man. Feel free to contact us to discuss this further.
lyrics
THE PICTURE
It isn't as easy as it was before
now through this masterpiece you see your soul
revealing a darker side in candle light
a site that you cannot shake and seek to hide
So take me down from the wall so I cant be seen at all
You know i'm your oldest foe twisted by the cruelty you've shown
Whenever I change
you always seem to stay the same
You laid upon us both that day
a curse so you would never fade
Shut away here in this room alone
and while you're gone to play
your sins mar my form
You return only to mock my stain
Who do you think you are?
Breath in deeply
There is no escaping me
What else could you choose
a battle you are set to loose
A war you wage and keep inside
masked by charm and selfish pride
Now you come bearing a knife so cold
Please no I beg of you don't
Ending me would mean the end of you
A knife in your back an a picture renewed
